I love doing SEO as it is very satisfying to see visitor traffic grow as a result of my work and if my client has a good business they will make a lot more money from the new customers that this low cost form of advertising generates.

SEO is the practice of raising your website's natural or organic rankings (not the paid or sponsored listings) in the search engines (mainly Google) for targeted keyword search results.

SEM - Google Adwords Management
SEM stands for Search Engine Marketing and refers to paid advertising on the internet. I have been certified since Dec 2010 in Google's main SEM product: Google AdWords. I am individually qualified in one of the three "specialist areas" of AdWords namely Search Advertising, the other two areas of study are Reporting and Analysis and Display Advertising.
This means that I am able to professionally manage your AdWords campaign and be able to maximise the Adword's campaign's effectiveness. My aims as your Adwords manager are many but the basic aims are to try to make your AdWords dollar spend go further by targeting the campaign better to a real prospective customer of your business (avoiding clicks by non-prospects). I will also try to reduce the CPC (cost per click) which on a fixed daily budget, means that you will have more prospects clicking on your Ad. Typically other parts of the job of AdWords management might entail:
- Setting up automated reports that verify the effectiveness (or not) of the AdWords campaign
- Making sure the keyword lists are right for you and that the keyword "match type" is the best for your needs
- Making sure the Ad text is compelling and contains keywords
- Making sure the landing page contains keywords so the Quality score (QS) is raised which in turn lowers the CPC (Cost per Click)
- If necessary, to split the Adwords Campaign into multiple campaigns and/or Ad Groups which helps analysis of the effectiveness
- Setting up a "conversion" or "goal" activity that denotes a desired visitor behaviour such as buying or enquiring
- Making sure the the geographic targeting is right for you
My new business name and logo for that side of the business is AdPad. The new AdPad website is in a blog format using Wordpress and the theme creator Thesis by DIY Tools which I am using to offer CMS websites (Content Management System) to my customers who want them.

Hard Web believes:
- the content of each webpage on your website, that is the text, photos and graphics must represent YOU and must reflect the "personality" and "life" of your business
- the website will quickly describe how you are different from, and why you are better than, your competition
- the website must be constantly trying to improve it's rankings in Google for targetted high volume search keywords that will get you new customers day in and day out for a fraction of the cost of other forms of advertising
- the website must be trying to communicate a message, your message, it only needs good simple website design to do this
- If possible the website should use professional photography and employ a professional copywriter, if that is not possible then you must put your best team together and they must spend a good amount of time on the job of writing some compelling sales copy for the website
- You must conjure a convincing argument as to why your prospective customer should use YOU rather than your competition
- Your website can't talk (unless you use a video presentation which is a good idea!) so the website copy must "sing" to the customer the music they want to hear...there are no shortcuts to good salesmanship
- Salesmanship is the art of selling, the website must exude your salesmanship
